Michael Conlon QC, Pump Court Tax Chambers Michael Conlon QC is a practising barrister at Pump Court Tax Chambers, specialising in revenue law. Called to the bar in 1974, he practised initially in mixed common law chambers before joining the government legal service. He moved to tax consultancy in 1986 and was successively a partner in international accountancy and law firms (requalifying as a solicitor in 1992). In 1997 he returned to practice at the bar and took silk in 2002. He is President of the VAT Practitioners Group and of the Institute of Indirect Tax, of which he is also a Fellow. He is a Chartered Tax Adviser (Fellow) and a member of numerous other professional and learned bodies. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of De Voil's Indirect Tax Intelligence and of The Tax Journal. He is a frequent writer and lecturer on taxation topics
